As you may have noticed, I've spent the past year working on my first art book. It will probably by out early next year. Self-published on blurb.com
Of course I want it to be a nice object, and I want it to be as good as it can be. So I've hired people to help me. A proof reader and a graphic designer. And there will be other expenses. Mostly buying some of my own books to show at festivals etc...
But I am aware that I will never be able to cover these expenses, let alone earn a thing. The latter is fine, I just want this to be out there, but as for the former I would like to ask you if you can help.
Depending on what formula you choose this will also give you the chance to get something nice in return, for instance the opportunity to get signed copies of the book which will be much harder to do later since it's a print on demand service.
There will also be a chance to win prizes, as the end of the campaign will be a big contest. More details as we go.

I'll also pledge, but it will have to be something smallish, like a print. Though I'd love a copy of the book -- well let's see how things develop here. There's a rosy glimmer on the horizon, let's hope it turns out!
I could feature your calendar on my blog in return?
And thanks a lot! You can always buy the book later when it will be out on blurb.
Good luck then!
A calendar feature would also be great - I started off by selling quite a few early on, this year, but now it's been quite slouchy. Last year, I was selling one or two a week on Ebay! Do you want some images? Or just link to where I sell them - [link]
I was planning to put the price down a bit ... might do tomorrow.
cheers!
If you need one of the images as a link let me know (I am not sure if it's still forbidden to hotlink here)
I've added that blog post to my "to do" list. Are these images ok for hotlinking? otherwise I can host them in one of my locked galleries, that I use for my blog? As you prefer.
I also have to post my French newsletter this week. Hopefully I will manage, I badly need to paint also, I am stuck in so much admin stuff (you know the drill)
I don't actually know if you can hotlink images from my site - I would assume so! But let me know if you have a problem. I generally download the images and post them as thumbnails on my site, so no prob about that.
I'll be off for a short holiday (before the hot season starts and I have to stay here and water my garden), so I guess the newsletter will be out first weekend of December, not last weekend of November. Hope that'll still be ok to catch the Christmas spirit.... ahem.
Oh and btw - apparently I am suddenly buying a house. LE DRAMA! I just hope it works out ok. I have no idea what I'm doing, I just hope I never ever have to move house again. Could use some crossed fingers!
As for my campaign it will run until mid-March so it's perfectly ok.
Oh boy! That's a big step. But if NZ is anything like the UK it's probably a good idea. Crossing all fingers and toes for you!
Buying house: well I can tell you I'm SCARED. For a gypsy like me, that is a big step indeed. Like getting married. Or something. I guess it also means I've sort of made up my mind to stay here, despite the crap I've been put through. Only hope it works out ... well, if I actually wind up getting contracts for the two proposals I've been asked to send this last week, things will seem to be on the upswing a bit... eBooks. Now that would be a good area to get one's foot in the door, methinks! Can you still cross your fingers for a little bit longer?
