The little (or not so little voice) that always tells you you won't succeed and keeps you from following your dreams.

Still Frodo the wanderer from the Shire would walk there, upon the grass among elanor and niphredil in fair Lothlorien.

Hee, hee! I know how that feels.
The colour version is underway, but I am busy remodelling the flat :P

I like her face and especially her nose (weird, I know, but it kind of stood out to me) - but something about her hand bothers me. I know foreshortening is really difficult to do so I couldn't quiet place it.

Thumb and the pointing finger seem good , in fact I think you did that part very well!
I think it's the middle- and ring finger pointing more or less straight downward that make the gesture look somewhat weird to me.

I tried to look around, you probably used somethnig like [link] as pose reference? I think the main difference seems to be that those two fingers aren't parallel from knuckle to fingernail and that makes them look just slightly more curled?
In general it was difficult to find a reference with uncurled fingers most people seem to curl the un-pointing fingers in, like for example here [link]

I suppose if you color it, some darker shading will add a little 'curl' to those fingers, move them a more backwards and everything will be fine.

All in all, I admire you for trying a difficult pose ilke that!

Thanks for the feedback! I used a photo of my own hand and copied it as exactly as I could. But the problem is that it was hard to recreate the same light conditions as the original photo. I can try to fix it when I colour it. But for the rest it will have to stay as it is :)

I didn't expect you to change it - I wouldn't either.
You usually mess up a picture if you try to change something like that at this stage. I just thought it would be helpful for future projects.

I'll never really learn humans, I've been trying for twenty years it's not working at all. Can't feel a thing when I do. But it's all I draw even so :P I am mad.

Humans are challenging but it's my favorite subject. I think landscapes are the most difficult thing ever.

I guess I'll have to rework the hand. It's even worse in the colour version :)
Bah!

Sorry for pointing it out, I think that made you worry a lot more about it than you would have otherhwise and now you can't not notice it anymore.

If you look at the overal picture to me it doesn't stand out as such a big problem - it doesn't disrupt the overall feeling or takes away from your message. Only if you center all attention on that mostly technical part, out of the context of the image, then you notice the room for improvement - but your pictures are more than examples of perfect technique, they also capture emotions and ideas.

Keep it in mind for future images, move on and come back to look at it when you've distanced yourself from the mere technical challenge of drawing this. Maybe then you'll see it differently.

To be honest I didn't pay attention until after I uploaded it. That's part of the problem I think I still don't take enough time to think when I do something a bit more difficult.
